Hiroshima University Selected as One of Japan’s 13 ”Top Global Universities”

Hiroshima University has been selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) for the “Top Global University Project” as one of Japan’s top 13 universities, providing a world-class research and education (Type A). 

The ‘Top Global University Project’, a 10-year governmental project, aims to bolster the international competitiveness of Japanese universities by providing priority support to universities dedicated to thorough university reform and internationalization. These are the following two categories: Type A, targeted for top universities that provide the highest level of research and education; and Type B, for universities which lead the internationalization of Japanese universities through pioneering efforts.  

The type A university consist of 13 National and private university.  These are as follow: Hiroshima University, Hokkaido University, Kyoto University,  Kyushu University, Nagoya University,  Osaka University,  Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Tohoku University, University of Tokyo,  University of Tsukuba, Keio University,  and WasedaUniversity.  

The following is a part of our project. We understand that HU is responsible and expected to fulfill our missions as a world-class comprehensive research university. In the next10 years, HU aims to be ranked among the world’s top 100 universities, continually producing global human resources and creating new forms of knowledge.
